The beach front near the main road, is almost always full of tourists both local and foreign. However if you are searching for some privacy and solitude, walk a little further along the beach towards Udupi. The beach stretch is long and unbroken. And offers lots of space to relax and enjoy a quiet walk or read a book.

Boat services are available from Malpe beach to St.Mary’s island. You can either choose a ferry boat or a speed boat service. The ferry boat service is cheap but does runs only twice in the day. Speed boat service is available on demand. But is obviously much more expensive.
